Simple to set up 2-pole freestanding design
Searching for a tent that would pass my expectations, and this one just did it. Very sturdy and well built. I don't have any complaints about it — 5 out of 5.
I only wish that this tent could have had more headroom. I don't have any complaints about the space inside. I think that the height is not enough, especially for tall people.
The Taurus 3 Outfitter has two doors and a maximum center height of 4' 2 which is a tiny bit less than the average height of the 126 various 3 person tents we have looked at. With 49 square feet of room inside, it is a little bit larger than some other 3-person tents, and it should accommodate you and, up to two other campers throughout the 3-seasons this tent is recommended for. Smaller tents like this one are a very good choice for people who prefer spending heaps of hours outside exploring the great outdoors.
Many of the fantastic things about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking lightweight, making them simple to carry around. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is suggested.
Dome tents are without a doubt the most commonly seen of all the other types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to do better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the water to pool on the top. The most basic dome tent should have a rectangular floor, slanted walls a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is generally considered that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 people.
