Summary: Favorable Reviews

Campers who used the tent said: For a party of three, this tent is a wonderful choice. It is simple to assemble and disassemble and its roomy inside. Easily fits three people and their belongings. The tent is well-built and stands up well to wind and rain. Highly suggestable

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Some people who used the tent said: I had big hopes for this, but regrettably, it didn't live up to them. The tent is challenging to erect, especially if you're a beginner. The instructions might use some clarification. Additionally, the zippers can be tricky to use. In mild rain, the tent did keep us dry, but I wouldn't rely on it in heavy downpours.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The El Capitan 3 3+ Outfitter has two doors and a maximum center height of 4' 2, which is a little bit smaller than the average height of the 177 other 3 person tents we have examined With 51 square feet of space inside, it is a tiny bit larger than some other 3-person tents, and it should accommodate you and, up to two other campers all through the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents like this one can make an awesome choice for people who appreciate spending lots of time outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Some of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances light, making them easy to carry. In near all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In calm weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are the most common of all the different sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the water to pool on the top of the tent. The most straightforward dome tent will have a rectangular footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is generally considered that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Down below, you can browse a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The El Capitan 3+ Outfitter can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Gives you somewhere to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Eureka adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 150D polyester oxford, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to rips and punctures. Also, the material has a 5000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
  6. Breathable. The El Capitan's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  7. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 2000mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  8. Other sizes are available. Eureka has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  9. Low price. It is a great deal for a 3 person dome tent that provides this much room. Not a lot of tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $262.46

CONS

  1. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 150D polyester oxford but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  2. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the El Capitan 3, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 10 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  3. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of attributes to rave about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.7 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.7 STARS

Eureka's El Capitan 3 3+ Outfitter tent is really good for bicycle & motorbike camping. Here are a couple of other points not already mentioned above which, were noticed and liked, while reviewing the model: integrated ridgepole to shed wind and rain, Front and rear vestibules feature Eureka's High/Low Vent -Air Exchange System and Zippered fabric panels behind the mesh on doors and walls allow for unmatched ventilation control.

With awesome ratings, a decent amount of reviews and a peak height of 4' and 51 square feet of space for sleeping, this tent is like your own modest flat. This allows you together with 2 other friends to share some real quality time exploring the great outdoors. We found lots of positive points about the tent that you can study above.

If you found this page looking for an endorsement on this specific tent, we think, it should make for an awesome purchase. If you simply happened to arrive on this website while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this brand or this tent model previously, it is probably a good thing to look at a few more similar tents.

Value for money: When thinking about value for your money, this tent is a lot more competitive than the average cost of all the one hundred and seventy-seven, three-person tents we have taken a look at, this itself does not make it remarkable value for money. One should also look at other things in detail, as we do with each tent.

When we tally up the valuation of an individual tent, we regard a lot of areas, looking for areas where the tent could outdo other near-identical tents and where it is coming up short. On this occasion, with a total rating of 4.7 and the price statistics above, It is simple to recognize that with a cost of $262.46 Eureka's El Capitan 3 3+ Outfitter is a perfect bargain and astonishingly cheap when compared with comparable tents.

The ratings show that the quality and dimensions the tent offers were not in any way skimped on to arrive at a price well under the average price for similar tents. It could make an excellent choice for most people looking for an appropriate three-season dome tent to camp in, that should serve you well for years to come.
