1. Freestanding. The Jade Canyon X can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
2. Plenty of Headroom. With 23% more headroom than similar-sized tents, one can easily count this as a plus.
3. Internal storage. It is good to see Eureka has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
4. Has awnings. The awnings protect the sides of the tent.
5. More than one window. With 4 windows it is easier to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
6. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 75D 190T polyester taffeta, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to tears and punctures. Also, the material has a 3000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
7. Breathable. The Jade Canyon's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.

CONS

1. Sensitive to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Jade Canyon may not do well in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would want to stake and tie it down correctly.
2. Not spacious. With a floor area of 64 square feet, the Jade Canyon 4 is smaller than quite a lot of the 171 other 4 person tents we have looked at.
3. Only one door. With just one door to get outside in the middle of the night, it may wake other campers that are sleeping.
4. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the rain etc, you will have to keep them inside the tent.
5. Rainfly does not wholly cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it may not protect against heavy downpours.
6. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately designed for the Jade Canyon 4 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 75D 190T polyester taffeta, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
7. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Jade Canyon 4, looks like a small tent, it is not ideal for backpacking as it weighs 21 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
8. Storage Space. because of the size of the tent, one cannot store a lot of stuff inside..
