Summary: Favorable Reviews

Some people who used this said: This tent has been a fantastic purchase and I've used it on several camping outings. I've never had to worry about moisture or stuffiness because the ventilation system is so effective. Additionally, it's lightweight and simple to pack, which is a major advantage in my book.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers who used this said: I had a camping trip last weekend and used this, The setup was more complicated than I expected and it took a while to get everything in place. Also, the zippers on the doors and windows kept getting stuck, which was frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this tent to anyone who is a beginner.

The Cypress 4 has two windows and one door and a maximum center height of 5' 0, which is a tiny bit less than the average height of the 166 other 4 person tents we have examined With 64 square feet of space inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 4-person tents, and it could be a little cramped for you and, up to three other campers throughout the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents similar to this one can make a really nice choice for people that like spending plenty of time outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Some of the great things about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking light, making them easy to carry. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very easy to set up. In good weather, you could do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the other types of tents you will find when camping. They tend to fair better in the rain than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the water to pool on the top of the tent. The most straightforward dome tent should have a square footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which cross in the center of the roof. Due to their construction, it is usually considered that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Down below, you can browse a list of the tent's pros and cons.

Click or Tap on the Tab you Want to See!

  1. Freestanding. The Cypress can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Cedar Ridge adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. More than one window. With 2 windows it is simple to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
  4. Breathable. The Cypress's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  5. Other sizes are available. Cedar Ridge has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  6. Low price. It is a great deal for a 4 person dome tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $99.99

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 64 square feet, the Cypress 4 is smaller than quite a few of the 167 other 4 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Only one door. With just one exit to get outside in the middle of the night, it could disturb other campers that are sleeping.
  3. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you must keep them inside the tent.
  4. Rainfly does not totally cover the tent. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy downpours.
  5. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Cypress 4 footprint Even though the floor may be made of PE tub-style, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  6. A tad heavy for backpacking. Even though the Cypress 4, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 9 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  7. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many qualities to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
  8. Storage Space. Due to the size of the tent, one cannot store a lot of stuff inside..

4.1 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.1 STARS

Cedar Ridge's Cypress 4 tent is ideal for bicycle & motorbike camping. Here are a couple of other cool things not already mentioned above which, were found and liked, while reviewing the model: Factory-sealed fly and tub-style floor provide weather protection, Zippered windows and side mesh panels provide ample ventilation and Mesh storage pockets and a gear loft to keep your gear organized.

With great ratings, and a minimum headroom of 5' and 64 square feet of space to enjoy, this tent is like your very own small flat. It allows you and up to 2 other campers to enjoy some delightful time in the outdoors together. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can study above.

If you came to this website looking for an endorsement about this actual tent, our view is, it would make for a great acquisition. In case you just happened to arrive on this page while looking for a brand new tent having never heard of this brand or this model previously, it is possibly a good idea to look at a few other similar tents also.

Value for money: In terms of value for your dollar, this tent is unquestionably cheaper than the average price point of all the one hundred and sixty-six, four-person tents we have studied, this just by itself does not make it awesome value for money. We also need to take a look at other things in detail, as we do with every tent.

When we measure the valuation of a single tent, we reflect upon loads of things, searching for areas where the tent could outshine other similar tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with an overall score of 4.1 and the price conclusions above, we can notice that with a ticket price of $99.99 Cedar Ridge's Cypress 4 is a good deal and fabulously priced in comparison with similar tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and space the tent provides were not skimped on to finish up with a price tag unquestionably beneath the standard price for comparable tents. It could make a superb choice for most campers searching for an appropriate three-season dome tent to go camping in, that should serve you well for years to come.
