Backpackers who used this tent said: The size for five people plus gears fits perfectly. You can set it up all by yourself. is reasonably priced and of high quality all around.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers said about similar tents made by manufacturer: Materials feel cheaper, including the zippers and flaps. It would be best if its double door considering the number of people it can handle. Vestibule could have made this a great choice but sadly, it was not included. Overall, for the price you are paying, I guess its not so bad.

The Tetragon 5 NX has two windows and one door and a peak center height of 6' 0, which is 12 inches smaller than the average height of the 30 other 5 person tents we have studied. With 81 square feet of space inside, it is a little bit smaller than some other 5-person tents, and it could be a little cramped for you and, up to four other campers during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents like this one often can make a suitable choice for people that like spending heaps of time outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Some of the great things about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances lightweight, making them simple to carry around. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In calm weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are the most commonly seen of all the other sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the water pooling on the top. The simplest dome tent will have a rectangular footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which cross in the center of the roof. Due to their construction, it is generally thought of that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Down below, you can see a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

Click or Tap on the Tab you Want to See!

  1. Freestanding. The Tetragon NX can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Eureka adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. More than one window. With 2 windows it is simple to keep the tent cooler on a hot summers night.
  4. Breathable. The Tetragon's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  5. Other sizes are available. Eureka has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  6. Low price. It is a great deal for a 5 person dome tent providing this much space. Not many tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $219.95 info_outline

  1. Susceptible to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Tetragon may not do well in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would want to stake and tie it down correctly.
  2. Not spacious. With a floor area of 81 square feet, the Tetragon 5 is smaller than quite a lot of the 34 other 5 person tents we have looked at.
  3. Lacking in Headroom. With 12% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some people.
  4. Only one door. With just one exit to get outside in the middle of the night, it may wake other campers that are sleeping.
  5. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the rain etc, you need keep them inside the tent.
  6. Rainfly does not totally cover the tent. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy rain.
  7. Fiberglass poles. Poles made of fiberglass help to keep the price down, they do though tend to be not as strong. This is yet another reason to only use the Tetragon in calm weather.
  8. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 63D 190T polyester taffeta but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  9. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of things to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
