Summary: Favorable Reviews

Campers said about similar tents made by manufacturer: Its perfect for backpacking trips! It's lightweight and easy to pack. The tent is well-made, and it's easy to set up. It's also well-ventilated, keeping the air flowing on hot days. Overall, a great purchase!

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Some people who used this tent said: The Aspen 2 Tent is okay, but there are better options out there. The tent is easy to set up, but the instructions are unclear. Definitely not a beginner friendly. The tent is also not very spacious for a two-person tent, and it's a bit uncomfortable to sleep in especially that I am 6 feet tall. The overall quality of the tent is average, and I think there are better options available in this price range.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Aspen 2 has one window and one door and a peak center height of 4' 4, which is a tiny bit more than the average height of the 252 different 2 person tents we have examined With 37 square feet of space inside, it is a little bit larger than some other 2-person tents, and it should accommodate you and, another camper during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents like this one make a very good choice for people that appreciate spending loads of time outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Some of the cool things about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking light, making them easy to carry around. In nearly all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most commonly seen of all the other sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in the rain than other types, allowing water to easily slide off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the water pooling on the roof. The most basic dome tent should have a square footprint, slanted sides a couple of poles which converge in the middle of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is typically considered that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can check out an account of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Aspen can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Gives you somewhere to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is good to see Cedar Ridge adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. Has awnings. The awnings shelter the walls of the tent.
  5. Breathable. The Aspen's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  6. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 0mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  7. Other sizes are available. Cedar Ridge has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  8. Low price. It is a great deal for a 2 person dome tent that provides this much room. Not a lot of tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $89.99

CONS

  1. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Aspen 2 footprint Even though the floor may be made of Polyethylene tub-style, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  2. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Aspen 2, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 7 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  3. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have lots of qualities to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.4 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.4 STARS

Cedar Ridge's Aspen 2 tent is great for bicycle & motorbike camping. Here are a couple of other points not noted above which, were noticed and liked, while researching the model: Tub-style floor provide great weather protection, Mesh storage pockets and a gear loft to keep your gear organized and Mesh side panels and zippered door window provides ample ventilation.

If you just happened to land on this website while browsing for a new tent having never heard of this brand or this tent model before, it is perhaps a good thing to check out a few more comparable tents also.

Value for money: In so much as value for your dollar, this tent is significantly cheaper than the normal price of all the two hundred and fifty-two, two-person tents we have taken a look at, this by itself does not make it awesome value for money. We also need to think about other factors in detail, as we do for every tent.

When we measure the ratings of an individual tent, we examine a lot of conditions, finding things where the tent could exceed other similar tents and where it is coming up short. In this case, with a total score of 4.4 and the price info above, It is simple enough to see that with a ticket price of $89.99 The Aspen 2 is a decent deal and fabulously cheap when compared with similar tents.

The ratings show that the quality and capacity the tent offers were not compromised to get a price tag undoubtedly below the normal price for similar tents. It could make a remarkable choice for most people searching for a comfortable three-season dome tent to camp with, that will serve you well for years to come.
