Tent Set Up

Assembly is really easy with the tent clips that just snap in place over the poles

Summary: Favorable Reviews

I love how the rainfly covers almost the whole tent. Setting up and even taking down is just a piece of cake. I also didn't encounter any problems with the materials.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

One needs guidance, especially when a young child is setting this up. Poles may be vulnerable if not used in the right way. Same as the poles, the zippers also should be adequately taken care of because it's only a single zip. Since it has two doors, both will be affected.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Meramac 4 ZF FG has two windows and two doors and a peak center height of 5' 0 which is a little bit less than the average height of the 129 other 4 person tents we have looked at. With 64 square feet of space inside, it is a little bit smaller than some other 4-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, up to three other campers during the whole of the 3-seasons this tent is suggested for. Smaller tents similar to this one generally make a very nice choice for people who appreciate spending heaps of hours outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Many of the fantastic points about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking light, making them easy to carry. In nearly all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you could do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most common of all the various sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the water pooling on the top of the tent. The most straightforward dome tent should have a square floor, sloped sides two or more poles which converge in the center of the roof. Because of their construction, it is usually considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Down below, you can browse a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Meramac ZF FG can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Alps adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. Has awnings. The awnings protect the walls of the tent.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. More than one window. With 2 openings it is simple to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
  6. Breathable. The Meramac's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  7. Other sizes are available. Alps has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  8. Low price. It is a great purchase for a 4 person dome tent that provides this much room. Not many tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $214.46 info_outline

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 64 square feet, the Meramac 4 is smaller than quite a lot of the 129 other 4 person tents we have looked at.
  2. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you will have to keep them inside the tent.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately specifically for the Meramac 4 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 210D 110T Nylon Oxford multi-pass urethane coating, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Meramac 4, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 12 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  5. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have lots of things to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
  6. Storage Space. because of the size of the tent, one cannot store much stuff inside..

CONCLUSION

4.2 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.2 STARS

Alps's Meramac 4 ZF FG tent is great for bicycle & motorbike camping. There are a few other things not already mentioned above which, we noticed and liked, while researching the model: ZF Series: which stands for bigger Zipper and heavier Floor. , We even have our factory seal the seams on the floor and fly for maximum water repellency. and Our fiberglass poles are also normally one size larger than normal to offer you a sturdier, stronger tent..

With favorable ratings, and a center height of 5' and 64 square feet of area to sleep, this tent is like your own little apartment. This will allow you together with 2 other campers to share some delightful time enjoying nature. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can read through above.

If you came to this website looking for suggestions on this specific tent, our view is, it would make for a good acquisition. If you simply happened to land on this website while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this brand or this model previously, it is probably a good thing to check out some more comparable tents also.

Value for money: In so much as value for your dollar, this tent is significantly cheaper than the normal cost of all the one hundred and fifty, four-person tents we have looked at, this by itself does not make it awesome value for money. One should also take a look at other factors in-depth, as we do with each tent.

When we tally up the ratings of a single tent, we study a lot of things, finding areas where the tent could beat other comparable tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with a total score of 4.2 and the price info above, we can spot that with a price of $214.46 info_outline The Meramac 4 ZF FG is a very good buy and astonishingly priced in comparison with comparable tents.

Its overall score shows that the quality and capacity the tent gives you were not skimped on to finish up with a price tag well beneath the normal price for similar tents. It is also worth thinking about the fact that it is marked down by 23% from the manufactures suggested price. It should make an exceptional choice for nearly all campers searching for an appropriate three-season dome tent to camp with, that should serve you well for years to come.
