Summary: Favorable Reviews

The tent is pretty huge. I appreciate the product as a whole. Excellent stitching, good quality of fabrics, and you can see how durable it is just by touching it.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

I Don't have any major complaints about it just this one regarding its mesh. The side mesh cannot be zipped shut. It's pretty good when the weather is hot because it serves as ventilation. However, when the weather gets cold, it adds to that. Other than that, nothing else follows. Everything is all good.

The Meramac 4 Outfitter has two windows and two doors and a maximum center height of 5' 0 which is a little bit less than the average height of the 129 other 4 person tents we have studied. With 64 square feet of space inside, it is a little bit smaller than some other 4-person tents, and it could be a little cramped for you and, up to three other campers throughout the 3-seasons this tent is suggested for. Smaller tents like this one can generally make a fantastic choice for people that welcome spending heaps of hours outside of their tent exploring.

Some of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part not too heavy, making them easy to carry around. In near all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most commonly seen of all the different sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to easily slide off the slanted walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, allowing the water to pool on the top of the tent. The simplest dome tent should have a rectangular footprint, slanted sides a couple of poles which cross in the center of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is usually considered that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Down below, you can find a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

  1. Freestanding. The Meramac Outfitter can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Has Gear Loft. It is good to see Alps adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. Has awnings. The awnings shelter the walls of the tent.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. More than one window. With 2 windows it is easier to keep the tent cool on a hot summers night.
  6. Breathable. The Meramac's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  7. Available in other sizes. Alps has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  8. Low price. It is a great buy for a 4 person dome tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $263.45 info_outline

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 64 square feet, the Meramac 4 is smaller than quite a few of the 129 other 4 person tents we have looked at.
  2. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the rain etc, you need store them inside the tent.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately specifically for the Meramac 4 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 75D 185T poly taffeta, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Meramac 4, looks like a small tent, it is not ideal for backpacking as it weighs 10 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  5. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have lots of qualities to be positive about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
  6. Storage Space. because of the size of the tent, one cannot store a lot of stuff inside..

Our Ratings: 4.1 STARS

Alps's Meramac 4 Outfitter tent is perfect for bicycle & motorbike camping. There are a few other cool things not mentioned above which, we found and liked, while reviewing the model: The Outfitter has 3 key upgrades: oversized #10 door zippers, a heavy duty nylon oxford floor, and 7000 Series aluminum poles. , The fly buckles to the tent, offering a much more secure attachment when compared to elastic cord. and The polyester fly and oxford floor are urethane coated, with factory sealed seams for maximum weatherproofness..

With great ratings, a few reviews and a minimum headroom of 5' and 64 square feet of area to sleep, this tent is like your own little home away from home. Value for money: When thinking about value for your money, this tent is a more competitive than the usual price of all the one hundred and fifty, four-person tents we have taken a look at, this just by itself does not make it remarkable value for money. We also need to take into account other things in detail, as we do for each tent.

When we measure the valuation of a single tent, we examine a good deal of things, looking for things where the tent could exceed other comparable tents and where it is coming up short. In this case, with an overall rating of 4.1 and the price details above, we can observe that with a cost of $263.45 info_outline The Meramac 4 Outfitter is a fair purchase and astonishingly cheap in comparison with comparable tents.
