Flawless performance from this tent. It is entirely waterproof in all types of rain. The fly fitted tightly and covered the product entirely.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

It is a great tent actually, but to my mind, it's just expensive. I mean you are going to buy a tent for two persons that cost about $500. For me, it's just too much, unless you are planning on camping in sub-zero temps.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Copper Spur 2 HV Expedition has two windows and two doors and a peak center height of 3' 3, which is 13 inches less than the average height of the 189 different 2 person tents we have studied. With 29 square feet of space inside, it is considerably smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you and, another camper during the whole of the 4-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents similar to this one make a really nice choice for campers who like spending heaps of hours outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Some of the great things about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part light, making them easy to carry. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most commonly seen of all the various sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in the rain than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the rain to pool on the top. The simplest dome tent should have a rectangular floor, slanted walls two or more poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is generally thought of that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Below you can check out a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Copper Spur HV Expedition can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Gives you somewhere to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is nice to see Big Agnes has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. More than one window. With 2 openings it is simple to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
  6. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is Dominico undyed polyester ripstop, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to tears and punctures. Also, the material has a 10000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
  7. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the whole body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1200mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  8. Available in other sizes. Big Agnes has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 29 square feet, the Copper Spur 2 is smaller than quite a lot of the 189 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 13% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some campers.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Copper Spur 2 footprint Even though the floor may be made of Dominico undyed polyester ripstop, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures site the last time we looked.
  5. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of qualities to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
