Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who used the tent said: Satisfied with its performance up until now. I was able to use it in my multiple backpacking and bikepacking trips. It stands pretty well against winds and storms. The diffuser light pockets work really well. Set up and tear down of the tent is extremely easy and user friendly. The tent fly also has great coverage. Overall, It is not bad for its price.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Some campers after using it said: Leaks appeared after using it under extreme weather conditions: strong winds and heavy rains I just too much for this tent. It also tends to create so much condensation build-up. The tent fly is excellent in terms of coverage. However, the quality is terrible and the ventilation is compromised because of that. Maybe, with some redesign and modifications, it might actually be great.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Dagger 3 Ultralight has two doors and a maximum center height of 3' 6, which is a tiny bit less than the average height of the 160 other 3 person tents we have examined With 44 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 3-person tents, and it could be a little cramped for you and, up to two other campers all through the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents similar to this one are a really nice choice for campers who appreciate spending heaps of time outside exploring the great outdoors.

Many of the great things about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part not too heavy, making them easy to carry. In near all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are the most common of all the various types of tents you will find when camping. They tend to fair better in storms than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, allowing the water to pool on the top of the tent. The simplest dome tent should have a square floor, slanted sides a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is usually considered that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Underneath you can find an account of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Dagger Ultralight can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Offers you a place to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is good to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 30D PeU Nylon Ripstop, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to tears and punctures. Also, the material has a 3000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
  6. Tons of Positive Reviews The Dagger 3 has Lots of very good Reviews
  7. Excellent Ratings The Dagger 3 has some of the best ratings of all the tents on optimumtents.com
  8. Available in other sizes. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 44 square feet, the Dagger 3 is smaller than quite a lot of the 165 other 3 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 9% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some campers.
  3. Rainfly does not totally cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it may not protect against heavy downpours.
  4. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately specifically for the Dagger 3 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 30D PeU Nylon Ripstop, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  5. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures site the last time we looked.
  6. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many attributes to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

5 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 5.0 STARS

Nemo Equipment's Dagger 3 Ultralight tent is perfect for backpacking. Here are a couple of other things not already mentioned above which, we noticed and liked, while reviewing the model: Color-coded anodized poles and matched webbing for an intuitive set up, Divvy Sack dual-stage stuff sack allows you to split the load with a hiking partner and Protected strut vents at the top of each zipper flap ensure greater ventilation, especially during a storm..

With excellent ratings, quite a few reviews and headroom of 3' and 44 square feet of space to enjoy, this tent is like your own modest flat. This enables you to spend some real quality moments hanging out with nature. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can look at above.

If you found this website looking for recommendations about this specific tent, we consider, it should make for an awesome purchase. If you simply happened to arrive on this page while browsing for a new tent having never heard of this brand or this model previously, it is perhaps a good idea to look at some more comparable tents also.

Value for money: As far as value for your money, this tent is little bit cheaper than the normal price of all the one hundred and sixty, three-person tents we have studied, this alone by itself does not make it good value for money. One should also take into account other areas in detail, as we do with every tent.

When we tally up the valuation of an individual tent, we study a good deal of areas, searching for things where the tent could exceed other very similar tents and where it is coming up short. On this occasion, with a total score of 5.0 and the price data above, It is simple to conclude that with a price point of $529.95 The Dagger 3 Ultralight is a very good purchase and cheap in comparison with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and dimensions the tent provides were not in any way compromised to get a price tag undoubtedly under the average price for comparable tents. It should make an exceptional choice for nearly all people searching for an adequate three-season backpacking tent to camp with, that will serve you well for years to come.
