Summary: Favorable Reviews

Currently, there are no campers who have used the new LX tent and written a review yet! The build and style are nearly identical to the older Copper Canyon Model, which has lots of reviews. People mentioned: That the earlier model, sets up quickly and within minutes, light rain and didn't get any leaks. It's very roomy, and the whole system is engineered to go together with no tools or mallet needed. Definitely room for cots if you desire and plenty of headroom. Incredible value and easy to put up and take down. Overnight it rained a lot and not a drop inside the tent. Comfortably fits a double and twin air mattress.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Currently, there are no people who have used the new LX tent and written a review yet! The build and style are nearly identical to the older Copper Canyon Model, which has lots of reviews. Campers mentioned: That with the earlier model, the door does tend to stick because of tightness at the top. The storage bag seems exceptionally lightweight compared to the tent and poles. As a precaution, it would be best to purchase a tarp to protect the floor. This is a massive tent, so it's not designed for backpacking.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Copper Canyon 6 LX has four windows and one door and a maximum center height of 7' 0, which is a tiny bit bigger than the average height of the 110 various 6 person tents we have studied. With 100 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 6-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, up to five other campers throughout the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, larger tents similar to this one can generally make a really nice choice for campers that like having lots of space inside of the tent.

One of the many advantages of cabin tents is, that the walls are basically vertical making for a larger interior, this makes for much more headroom at the sides inside, making it feel much larger than a dome tent, they also, tend to have large sleeping areas, making them great for groups. Normally cabin tents most often used by families going on a camping trip in a car or a truck as they are quite heavy when compared to dome tents. It dose though make them better suited to cooler months.

Below you can find a list of the tent's pros and cons.

Click or Tap on the Tab you Want to See!

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Copper Canyon LX can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Plenty of Headroom. With 8% more headroom than similar size tents, one can easily count this as a plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Eureka adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. Has awnings. The awnings shelter the sides of the tent.
  5. More than one window. With 4 openings it is easier to keep the tent cool on a hot summers night.
  6. Breathable. The Copper Canyon's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  7. Available in other sizes. Eureka has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  8. Low price. It is a great buy for a 6 person cabin tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $225.00 info_outline

CONS

  1. Sensitive to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Copper Canyon may not do best in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would want to stake and tie it down correctly.
  2. Not spacious. With a floor area of 100 square feet, the Copper Canyon 6 is smaller than quite a lot of the 110 other 6 person tents we have looked at.
  3. Only one room. The Copper Canyon is designed for 6 campers, many other tents of a similar size have more than one room allowing for a little more privacy.
  4. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the rain etc, you must keep them inside the tent.
  5. Rainfly does not completely cover the tent. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy downpours.
  6. Uses Fiberglass poles. Even though the poles are comprised of fiberglass & steel. Using even some fiberglass with a large tent like the Copper Canyon 6 could possibly lead to problems, if there were to be extreemly windy conditions.
  7. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of Polyester taffeta but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.

CONCLUSION

Our Ratings: 5.0 STARS

Eureka's Copper Canyon 6 LX tent is perfect for car camping. There are a few other nice points not mentioned above which, were found and liked, while researching the model: Large mesh windows with waterproof curtains offer scenic views and plenty of ventilation, Near-vertical walls create lots of standing room and are ideal when camping with air mattress and cots and This has the same sturdy frame, fabric and coatings as our original. The windows on the Copper Canyon do zip up the sides to where the LX provides coverage with a toggle at the top. The most exciting new feature of the LX is the extended fly for extra weather protection and a dry entry way..

Value for money: As far as value for your money, this tent is cheaper than the average price of all the one hundred and eleven, six-person tents we have taken a look at, this by itself does not make it good value for money. We also need to take a look at other things in-depth, as we do for every tent.
