Summary: Favorable Reviews

Reviewers describe just how light it is, and how they barely notice they are carrying it. As advertised, the tent stands up to rain and is 100% waterproof even under harsh conditions. The material is super thin, but the majority of contact points are reinforced. After using it for four days, I'm excited about using it again.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Reviewers noted even the two-person tent could be considered small for one person. Not that breathable on a hot, muggy night with the fly on. Condensation build-up most nights. The included stakes seem to be the same as the regular Fly Creek.

The Fly Creek 1 HV Carbon has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 3, which is a tiny bit less than the average height of the 68 various 1 person tents we have studied. With 19 square feet of room inside, it is significantly smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you throughout the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents like this one generally make a suitable choice for campers who welcome spending plenty of time outside the tent exploring.

Many of the fantastic things about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances light, making them simple to carry. In near all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most common of all the various sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in the rain than other types, allowing water to easily slide off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, allowing the water to pool on the roof. The most straightforward dome tent should have a rectangular floor, slanted walls a couple of poles which converge in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is usually considered that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can check out an account of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

  1. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Affords you somewhere to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is good to see Big Agnes has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1200mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  4. Other sizes are available. Big Agnes has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 19 square feet, the Fly Creek 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 68 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 5% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some people.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately specifically for the Fly Creek 1 footprint Even though the floor may be made of Dyneema Composite Fabrics, 100% rainproof, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have lots of attributes to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

4.4 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.4 STARS

Big Agnes's Fly Creek 1 HV Carbon tent is perfect for backpacking. There are a few other cool things not already mentioned above which, were found and liked, while researching the model: All-breathable body saves weight, provides extra privacy and protection from desert sand , Easton carbon fiber poles are lightweight and flexible, with a high strength-to-weight ratio, Dyneema patch kit included and The tent fabric is ultralight weight, 100% rainproof and has a high dimensional stability that resists stretching or sagging during temperature changes..

With wonderful ratings, and a peak height of 3' and 19 square feet of space to enjoy, this tent is like your own modest studio. It will enable you to spend some real quality moments hanging out with nature. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can check out above.

If you came to this page looking for an endorsement on this specific tent, we consider, it should make for a good purchase. If you just happened to land on this website while browsing for a new tent having never heard of this manufacurer or this model before, it is probably a good thing to check out a few more comparable tents also.

Value for money: When thinking about value for your money, this tent is undoubtedly more expensive than the usual cost of all the one hundred and six, one-person tents we have taken a look at, this alone is not a negative thing. One should also take a look at other areas in detail, as we do for each tent.

When we measure the valuation of a single tent, we study tons of stuff, looking for points where the tent could outshine other very similar tents and where it is coming up short. In this case, with a total rating of 4.4 and the price details above, It is simple enough to recognize that with a price of $799.95 The Fly Creek 1 HV Carbon is a good buy although it may be perceived as quite costly when compared with similar tents.

The ratings show that the quality and space the tent provides make it a decent purchase for people looking for a tent that will last for many years. It could make a good choice for nearly all people searching for an adequate three-season backpacking tent to camp in, that will serve you well for years to come.
