Easy set-up with unique hub design and pole clips that quickly snap over the tent poles

Summary: Favorable Reviews

The instructions to set up the tent is direct to the point. It is pretty roomy that it even fit a queen size mattress, two medium-large dogs, and some of the gears. Setting it up can be done by one person only. Even a 6-foot person can stand inside without having any problems.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

It took about 15 minutes to set it up by one person. Instructions are a bit short, and directions are not detailed. However, it may all seems pretty self-explanatory once you do it already. A 6-foot guy and up should set it up easily it might be difficult for people under 6 foot.

The Camp Creek 6 has four windows and one door and a peak center height of 7' 0, which is a little bit bigger than the average height of the 107 different 6 person tents we have studied. With 100 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 6-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, up to five other campers throughout the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, larger tents similar to this one are a great choice for campers who welcome having loads of space inside of the tent for sleeping and hanging out.

One of the benefits of cabin tents is, that the sides are near vertical making for a generous interior, this allows for plenty of headroom at the sides of the tent, making it feel much bigger than a dome tent, in general the floor areas are quite large compared to other tents. In general cabin tents are used by families going on a camping trip in a car or a truck as they are quite heavy when compared to dome tents. This dose though make them well suited to cooler months.

Below you can browse a list of the tent's pros and cons.

Click or Tap on the Tab you Want to See!

  1. Freestanding. The Camp Creek can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Plenty of Headroom. With 8% more headroom than similar size tents, one can easily count this as a plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is good to see Alps Mountaineering has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. Has awnings. The awnings protect the sides of the tent.
  5. More than one window. With 4 openings it is easier to keep the tent cooler on a hot summers night.
  6. Other sizes are available. Alps Mountaineering has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  7. Low price. It is a great deal for a 6 person cabin tent providing this much space. Not many tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $215.99

  1. Vulnerable to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Camp Creek may not do well in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would want to stake and tie it down correctly.
  2. Not spacious. With a floor area of 100 square feet, the Camp Creek 6 is smaller than quite a lot of the 107 other 6 person tents we have looked at.
  3. Only one room. The Camp Creek is recommended for 6 people, many other tents of a similar size have more than one room allowing for a little more privacy.
  4. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you will have to keep them inside the tent.
  5. Rainfly does not completely cover the tent. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it may not protect against heavy downpours.
  6. Fiberglass poles. Poles constructed of fiberglass help to keep the price down, they do though tend to be not as strong. This is yet another reason to only use the Camp Creek in decent weather.
  7. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately specifically for the Camp Creek 6 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 150D polyester oxford, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.

4.6 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.6 STARS

Alps Mountaineering's Camp Creek 6 tent is suitable for car camping. There are a few other things not noted above which, we found and liked, while researching the model: Great ventilation with one door and four large windows, Straight side walls allow more room for cots and Factory-sealed fly and floor seams provide best weather protection.

With excellent ratings, plenty of reviews and headroom of 7' and 100 square feet of space to enjoy, this tent is like your own miniature house. This will enable you and up to 4 other people to spend some delightful moments enjoying nature. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can study above.

If you found this website looking for suggestions about this particular tent, our view is, it should make for an awesome purchase. In case you simply happened to arrive on this page while looking for a new tent having never heard of this brand or this model before, it is probably a good thing to look at a few other comparable tents also.

Value for money: When thinking about value for money, this tent is undoubtedly more competitive than the average price of all the one hundred and eight, six-person tents we have taken a look at, this alone by itself does not make it good value for money. We also need to take into account other areas in-depth, as we do for each tent.

When we measure the valuation of a tent, we reflect upon loads of things, looking for areas where the tent could outdo other very similar tents and where it is not quite as good. On this occasion, with an overall rating of 4.6 and the price details above, we can notice that with a price of $215.99 The Camp Creek 6 is a very good bargain and fabulously priced in comparison with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and space the tent provides were not in any way skimped on to arrive at a price tag well under the average price for similar tents. It is also worth thinking about the fact that it is marked down by 38% from the manufactures suggested retail price. It could make an excellent choice for nearly all campers looking for an appropriate three-season cabin tent to camp in, that should serve you well for years to come.
