SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Spike 1 Ultralight has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 5, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 79 other 1 person tents we have examined With 18 square feet of space inside, it is a lot smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you throughout the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents similar to this one generally make a very nice choice for campers that like spending plenty of hours outside the tent exploring.

Many of the fantastic things about a-frame tents are, that they are under normal circumstances not too heavy, making them easy to carry. In most all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the a-frame type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is recommended.

A-Frame tents are easily the most commonly seen of all the different types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in the rain than other types, allowing rain to roll off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the rain to pool on the top of the tent. The most basic a-frame tent should have a square footprint, sloped sides two or more poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is generally considered that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Underneath you can check out a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Offers you a place to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is nice to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. Other sizes are available. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  4. Low price. It is a great purchase for a 1 person a-frame tent that provides this much room. Not many tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $249.95

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 18 square feet, the Spike 1 is smaller than quite a few of the 80 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 30D Sil/PeU Nylon Ripstop but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  3. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures website the last time we checked.

CONCLUSION

4.2 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.2 STARS

Nemo Equipment's Spike 1 Ultralight tent is good for backpacking. There are a few other cool things not already mentioned above which, were found and liked, while reviewing the model: Premium 30D Nylon Ripstop is coated on both sides with a silicone treatment for increased strength and weatherproof protection, No-See-Um Mesh pentagonal door further increases air flow for condensation control while keeping bugs at bay and Protected by the NEMO Lifetime Warranty..

With great ratings, and headroom of 3' and 18 square feet of area to sleep, this tent is like your own miniature home away from home. This allows you to enjoy some real quality moments exploring the great outdoors. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can look at above.

If you found this website looking for suggestions on this particular tent, our view is, it would make for a great purchase. In case you just happened to arrive on this website while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this brand or this tent model before, it is perhaps a good idea to look at a few other comparable tents also.

Value for money: In so much as value for money, this tent is a cheaper than the average price of all the seventy-nine, one-person tents we have looked at, all alone this does not make it good value for money. One should also look at other things in detail, as we do with each tent.

When we determine the ratings of a tent, we look at loads of data points, searching for areas where the tent could excel against other similar tents and where it is coming up short. In this case, with an overall score of 4.2 and the price statistics above, It is simple to notice that with a cost of $249.95 Nemo Equipment's Spike 1 Ultralight is a great bargain and fabulously priced in comparison with comparable tents.

The overall score shows that the quality and space the tent provides were not skimped on to obtain a price tag undoubtedly beneath the normal price for comparable tents. It could make a very good choice for nearly all campers searching for an adequate three-season backpacking tent to go camping with, that should serve you well for years to come.
