Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who used the tent said: It is a thoughtfully designed tent. Definitely an upgrade to the previous version, which now has the floor and mesh door. It is easy and quick to set up, packs small and very light in comparison to other tents in this price range.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers, who used the tent said: You might need to provide your tension to stand since what they provided is not strong enough. A vent by the feet, more internal room, and tent pad would also make a great improvement for this tent. It would best if it is not used during strong winds or rainstorms.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Spike 1 Storm has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 6, which is a tiny bit more than the average height of the 79 other 1 person tents we have studied. With 19 square feet of room inside, it is considerably smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents like this one can make a great choice for campers that love spending plenty of hours outside their tent getting some air.

A few of the great things about a-frame tents are, that they are under normal circumstances lightweight, making them easy to carry. In near all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the a-frame type. They are usually, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

A-frame tents are without a doubt the most common of all the different sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in the rain than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the water pooling on the roof. The most straightforward a-frame tent should have a square floor, slanted sides a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to their construction, it is generally thought of that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Down below, you can browse an account of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Affords you somewhere to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is nice to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. Other sizes are available. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  4. Low price. It is a great purchase for a 1 person a-frame tent that provides this much room. Not a lot of tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $229.95

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 19 square feet, the Spike 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 80 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of tough fabric but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  3. Discontinued: Unfortunately this particular tent has been discontinued on the manufactures site and is not available elsewhere, that we know of.

CONCLUSION

4.3 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Nemo Equipment's Spike 1 Storm tent is good for backpacking. Here are a few other things not noted above which, we noticed and liked, while researching the model: Silicone-treated fabrics offer superior strength, durability and waterproofness, Reinforced pole pocket with attached pole sleeve houses the trekking pole handle. and Reinforced hoops keep the upper vent open all the time, allowing low-to-high ventilation.

With positive ratings, a couple of reviews and headroom of 3' and 19 square feet of space to play with, this tent is like your very own little home away from home. It allows you to enjoy some delightful time exploring the great outdoors. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can study above.

If you came to this website looking for suggestions about this particular tent, we consider, it would make for a great buy. In case you simply happened to arrive on this page while browsing for a brand new tent having not heard of this manufacture or this tent previously, it is perhaps a good idea to look at a few other similar tents also.

Value for money: In so much as value for your money, this tent is a cheaper than the normal price of all the seventy-nine, one-person tents we have looked at, this just by itself does not make it excellent value for money. We also need to look at other things in detail, as we do for each tent.

When we tally up the score of an individual tent, we scrutinize plenty of things, finding areas where the tent could exceed other near-identical tents and where it is not quite as good. On this occasion, with a total score of 4.3 and the price info above, It is simple to recognize that with a price of $229.95 The Spike 1 Storm is a decent bargain and astonishingly cheap when compared with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and size the tent provides were not skimped on to arrive at a price well under the standard price for comparable tents. It will make a remarkable choice for nearly all campers looking for an adequate three-season backpacking tent to go camping in, that will serve you well for years to come.
