Summary: Favorable Reviews

Some people who used the tent said: Camping experience was great with this tent. It is durable at the same time, waterproof. Works pretty well against minimal weather conditions. Plus, the pole quality is superb which made the tent very sturdy. It only took 5-10 minutes to set it up. Overall, it is a tent that I will bring over and over again for my camping trips.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers who used the tent said: It needs a bit of improvement. The outer and inner tents are very close, which resulted the dripping of water inside. Ventilation was fair. I just do not recommend using it during very cold or hot weather. It condesates much in the morning. I just hope that the door has mesh protection in it from the mosquitoes and other insects.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Hubba 1 Tour has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 2, which is a little bit smaller than the average height of the 77 various 1 person tents we have studied. With 21 square feet of space inside, it is considerably smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you all through the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents similar to this one often can make an excellent choice for campers who prefer spending plenty of time outside exploring the great outdoors.

A few of the great points about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part light, making them simple to carry. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are easily the most commonly seen of all the other sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in the rain than other types, allowing rain to roll off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the water to pool on the roof. The most straightforward dome tent will have a rectangular footprint, slanted walls a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to their construction, it is generally thought of that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can check out an account of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Hubba Tour can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Gives you a place to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is good to see MSR adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 30D ripstop nylon Durashield polyurethane & DWR, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to tears and punctures. Also, the material has a 10000 mm waterproofing rating, which is pretty good for most circumstances.
  5. If you are searching for this actual tent, you are in luck it has been discontinued on the manufactures site, but is still available elsewhere.
  6. Other sizes are available. MSR has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 21 square feet, the Hubba 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 78 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Rainfly does not wholly cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy rain.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately specifically for the Hubba 1 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 30D ripstop nylon Durashield polyurethane & DWR, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many things to be positive about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.7 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.7 STARS

MSR's Hubba 1 Tour tent is good for backpacking. Here are a couple of other nice points not noted above which, we noticed and liked, while reviewing the model: Exoskeleton frame and unified rainfly and body keep the tent body dry during setup in bad weather., The mesh vestibule door maintains a bug-free zone for ride preparations. and Multiple large pockets hold jackets and cycling gear, while a gear loft stores smaller items..

With superb ratings, a couple of reviews and a center height of 3' and 21 square feet of space to play with, this tent is like your very own small studio. This enables you to spend some real quality time hanging out with nature. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can study above.

If you found this website looking for an endorsement about this actual tent, we consider, it would make for an awesome acquisition. If you just happened to land on this page while looking for a brand new tent having not heard of this brand or this tent previously, it is probably a good idea to check out a few other similar tents.

Value for money: When thinking about value for your money, this tent is more expensive than the usual price point of all the seventy-seven, one-person tents we have studied, all alone this is not a negative thing. We also need to think about other factors in-depth, as we do for each tent.

When we measure the overall score of a tent, we consider tons of data points, searching for things where the tent could outperform other very similar tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with an overall score of 4.7 and the price conclusions above, we can observe that with a price of $273.73 MSR's Hubba 1 Tour is an awesome buy though it may be considered a tiny bit costly when compared with similar tents.

Its overall score shows that the quality and space the tent offers make it an excellent choice for campers wanting a tent that can last for lots of years. It is also worth thinking about the fact that it is marked down by 50% from the manufactures suggested price. It should make a decent choice for nearly all campers looking for an adequate three-season backpacking tent to camp in, that will serve you well for years to come.
