1. Freestanding. The Tallboy can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
2. Internal storage. It is good to see Kelty has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
3. Breathable. The Tallboy's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
4. Available in other sizes. Kelty has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
5. Low price. It is a great buy for a 6 person dome tent providing this much room. Not many tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $239.95

CONS

1. Sensitive to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Tallboy may not do best in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would need to stake and tie it down correctly.
2. Not roomy. With a floor area of 86 square feet, the Tallboy 6 is smaller than quite a lot of the 114 other 6 person tents we have looked at.
3. Lacking in Headroom. With 10% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some people.
4. No windows. With no windows it is not easy to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.

8. Fiberglass poles. Poles constructed of fiberglass help to keep the price down, they do though tend to be not as strong. This is yet another reason to only use the Tallboy in decent weather.
9. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately designed for the Tallboy 6 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 68D Polyester, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
10. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures website the last time we checked.
11. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have lots of attributes to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
