Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who purchased the tent noted: The walls are higher in this model, and it helps with the wind. It is a very easy tent to put up and take down. It was blowing around in a strong wind but had no leaks. They were able to camp in a bog, and no water or mud seeped in. The loft is incredible, well worth the extra purchase since the weight is negligible. High vented ceiling that would be easy for any camper to sit up and move around comfortably. While other tents I have had begun leaking and the poles have snapped, these tents remain strong with almost no issues whatsoever.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers who bought the tent mentioned: They would like to see smaller packaging so this tent can go into a compression bag to obtain more packing room. The only downside is the fly is made of a heavy material, which makes for a much heavier tent.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Outfitter Pro 3 has two doors and a peak center height of 4' 1, which is a tiny bit less than the average height of the 139 other 3 person tents we have examined With 46 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 3-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, up to two other campers all through the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents like this one often can make an excellent choice for campers who prefer spending heaps of hours outside of their tent exploring.

Many of the great points about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part not too heavy, making them simple to carry around. In most all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very easy to set up. In calm weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the different sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing water to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the water pooling on the roof. The most basic dome tent should have a rectangular footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is generally considered that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Underneath you can see a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Outfitter Pro can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Offers you a place to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is good to see Kelty has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 210D Nylon, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to rips and punctures. Also, the material has a 3000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
  6. Breathable. The Outfitter Pro's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  7. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1800mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  8. Available in other sizes. Kelty has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  9. Low price. It is a great buy for a 3 person dome tent that provides this much room. Not many tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $260.33

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 46 square feet, the Outfitter Pro 3 is smaller than quite a lot of the 139 other 3 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 5% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some people.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Outfitter Pro 3 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 210D Nylon, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Outfitter Pro 3, looks like a small tent, it is not ideal for backpacking as it weighs 7 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  5. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of attributes to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.3 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Kelty's Outfitter Pro 3 tent is perfect for bicycle & motorbike camping. There are a couple of other things not noted above which, were found and liked, while reviewing the model: The Outfitter Pro tent is Kelty Built with heavy-duty floor fabric to handle the elements and take a serious beating, Taped floor seams, ArcEdge floor and Mesh wall panels and Noiseless zipper pulls and field repairable zipper.

With good ratings, quite a few reviews and headroom of 4' and 46 square feet of space to play with, this tent is like your very own modest apartment. It will allow you to spend some delightful moments hanging out with nature. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can look at above.

If you found this page looking for suggestions about this specific tent, we consider, it will make for a good buy. If you simply happened to arrive on this page while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this manufacurer or this tent model before, it is probably a good idea to check out a few other comparable tents.

Value for money: In terms of value for your money, this tent is a lot cheaper than the average cost of all the one hundred and ninety-three, three-person tents we have looked at, this by itself does not make it excellent value for money. We also need to think about other factors in detail, as we do for every tent.

When we calculate the ratings of a single tent, we consider plenty of areas, looking for things where the tent could beat out other very similar tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with a total rating of 4.3 and the price info above, one can notice that with a price of $260.33 The Outfitter Pro 3 is a good buy and fabulously priced in comparison with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the build and capacity the tent provides were not skimped on to obtain a price tag significantly below the normal price for similar tents. It should make an exceptional choice for nearly all campers searching for a comfy three-season dome tent to go camping in, that will serve you well for years to come.
