Summary: Favorable Reviews

Very spacious tent, can accommodate six people. Can set up beds, a table, and chairs inside. Vented ceilings provide excellent, controlalble airflow. No leaks when raining. Screened ceiling allows for stargazing. Has an electrical port.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Though the interior is roomy, some say it still needs more loops for hanging stuff on. Some comment that the reflective ceiling has no use, though some say it's good for illumination.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Sunrise Ex 6 has four windows and one door and a maximum center height of 6' 2, which is a little bit smaller than the average height of the 110 various 6 person tents we have examined With 100 square feet of space inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 6-person tents, and it could be a little cramped for you and, up to five other campers all through the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, larger tents similar to this one generally make an ideal choice for people that like having heaps of space inside.

Many of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances not too heavy, making them simple to carry. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are the most commonly seen of all the different sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to fair better in the rain than other types, allowing rain to roll off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the rain pooling on the roof. The most basic dome tent should have a square floor, sloped walls two or more poles which cross in the center of the roof. Due to their construction, it is usually considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Down below, you can browse an account of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Sunrise Ex can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Internal storage. It is nice to see Eureka has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  3. More than one window. With 4 openings it is easier to keep the tent cool on a hot summers night.
  4. Remarkable Ratings The Sunrise Ex 6 has some of the best ratings of all the tents on optimumtents.com
  5. Available in other sizes. Eureka has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  6. Low price. It is a great deal for a 6 person dome tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $239.95

CONS

  1. Susceptible to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Sunrise Ex may not do best in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would want to stake and tie it down correctly.
  2. Not spacious. With a floor area of 100 square feet, the Sunrise Ex 6 is smaller than quite a lot of the 110 other 6 person tents we have looked at.
  3. Only one room. The Sunrise Ex is recommended for 6 people, many other tents of a similar size have more than one room allowing for a little more privacy.
  4. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you must store them inside the tent.
  5. Rainfly does not completely cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it may not protect against heavy rain.
  6. Fiberglass poles. Poles constructed of fiberglass help to keep the price down, they do though tend to be not as strong. This is yet another reason to only use the Sunrise Ex in decent weather.
  7. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately designed for the Sunrise Ex 6 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 63D 190T Polyester taffeta, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  8. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures website the last time we checked.
  9. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of things to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.3 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Eureka's Sunrise Ex 6 tent is great for car camping. There are a couple of other cool things not noted above which, we noticed and liked, while researching the model: Windows on each wall provide 360 views., Bathtub floor and fully seam taped construction keep water out and Want power? Run an outdoor grade extension cord from campsite power into the tent through the E!Power Port. .

With excellent ratings, a few reviews and a peak height of 6' and 100 square feet of space to enjoy, this tent is like your own little residence. It will allow you and up to 4 other friends to spend some really enjoyable moments camping together. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can study above.

If you came to this website looking for an endorsement about this specific tent, we consider, it would make for a very good buy. If you simply happened to land on this page while browsing for a brand new tent having never heard of this brand or this tent previously, it is perhaps a good thing to look at some more similar tents.

Value for money: In terms of value for money, this tent is a lot cheaper than the average price of all the one hundred and seven, six-person tents we have studied, this alone does not make it good value for money. We also need to look at other factors in detail, as we do with every tent.

When we determine the overall score of a tent, we regard a good deal of areas, finding points where the tent could shine against other near-identical tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with an overall rating of 4.3 and the price info above, one can see that with a ticket price of $239.95 Eureka's Sunrise Ex 6 is a remarkable bargain and incredibly priced when compared with comparable tents.

Its overall score shows that the build and space the tent gives you were not in any way skimped on to get a price tag undoubtedly beneath the normal price for similar tents. It will make an awesome choice for most campers searching for an appropriate three-season dome tent to camp in, that should serve you well for years to come.
