Tent Set Up

Single-pole architecture makes set up and take down simple and efficient

Green Thumbs Up Logo

Summary: Favorable Reviews

Backpackers noted: That it held up well in mild hail and rain, and strong winds. Setup is incredibly quick and easy. Ridiculously light ideal for long treks. Lots of space for a two person tent when used alone.

Teal Thumbs Down Logo

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Backpackers noted: That with hardly any mesh on the interior it is kinda warm and stuffy. The tent feels very delicate and easy to damage as BA warns us. The fly is also a little small we had a couple instances where the mesh on tent was exposed and a little water got inside during a strong storm.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Tiger Wall 2 Carbon has two doors and a peak center height of 3' 3, which is 12 inches less than the average height of the 204 different 2 person tents we have studied. With 27 square feet of space inside, it is significantly smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you and, another camper during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents similar to this one make a suitable choice for campers that prefer spending plenty of time outside the tent exploring.

A few of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking not too heavy, making them simple to carry around. In nearly all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very easy to set up. In good weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most commonly seen of all the different types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to do better in bad weather than other types, allowing rain to roll off the slanted walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the water pooling on the roof. The most basic dome tent should have a rectangular footprint, slanted walls a couple of poles which converge in the center of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is usually considered that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can see a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Affords you a place to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is nice to see Big Agnes has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  3. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  4. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the whole body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 0mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  5. Other sizes are available. Big Agnes has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 27 square feet, the Tiger Wall 2 is smaller than quite a lot of the 204 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 12% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some people.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately specifically for the Tiger Wall 2 footprint Even though the floor may be made of Dyneema polyethylene, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many qualities to be positive about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.3 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Big Agnes's Tiger Wall 2 Carbon tent is ideal for backpacking. There are a couple of other nice points not already mentioned above which, were noticed and liked, while reviewing the model: Fly and floor are ultra-lightweight Dyneema Composite Fabrics, 100% rainproof, with high-dimensional stability, Ready to pitch; with pre-cut guylines and tensioners attached to fly and Self-adhesive repair patches are included in the event that repairs must be made on the trail..

With great ratings, and a minimum headroom of 3' and 27 square feet of area to sleep, this tent is like your very own little home away from home. It enables you to enjoy some really enjoyable moments camping. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can read through above.

If you found this website looking for recommendations on this specific tent, our view is, it should make for a good buy. If you simply happened to land on this page while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this manufacture or this model previously, it is perhaps a good thing to look at some other comparable tents.

Value for money: When thinking about value for money, this tent is significantly pricier than the usual cost of all the two hundred and eighty-five, two-person tents we have looked at, all alone this is not a negative thing. One should also take a look at other areas in detail, as we do with every tent.

When we tally up the overall score of a tent, we study a good deal of data points, finding points where the tent could outshine other very similar tents and where it is not quite as good. In this case, with an overall score of 4.3 and the price data above, one can identify that with a price of $999.942 The Tiger Wall 2 Carbon is a decent bargain although it may be perceived as very costly when set side by side with similar tents.

Its ratings show that the build and space the tent offers make it a decent buy for campers looking for a tent that will last for many years. It could make an ok choice for nearly all people looking for an adequate three-season backpacking tent to go camping with, that should serve you well for years to come.
