The Bunk House 6 has two windows and two doors and a maximum center height of 6' 11, which is a tiny bit more than the average height of the 109 different 6 person tents we have studied. With 83 square feet of room inside, it is considerably smaller than some other 6-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you and, up to five other campers throughout the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents similar to this one make a nice choice for campers that love spending loads of hours outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Something we like about cabin tents is, that the sides of the tent are near vertical making for a generous interior, this makes for plenty of headroom at the sides of the tent, making it feel much bigger than other types of tents, they also, tend to have large sleeping areas, making them great for groups. In general cabin tents are used by families going on a camping trip in a car or a truck as they are quite heavy when compared to dome tents. This dose though make them better suited to cooler nights.

Underneath you can check out a list of the tent's pros and cons.

Click or Tap on the Tab you Want to See!

  1. Freestanding. The Bunk House can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Tons of Headroom. With 5% more headroom than similar-sized tents, one can easily count this as a plus.
  3. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Offers you a place to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  4. Internal storage. It is nice to see Big Agnes has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  5. Has awnings. The awnings shelter the walls of the tent.
  6. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  7. More than one window. With 2 openings it is easier to keep the tent cooler on a hot summers night.
  8. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1500mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  9. Available in other sizes. Big Agnes has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

  1. Vulnerable to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Bunk House may not do well in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would want to stake and tie it down correctly.
  2. Not roomy. With a floor area of 83 square feet, the Bunk House 6 is smaller than quite a few of the 109 other 6 person tents we have looked at.
  3. Only one room. The Bunk House is designed for 6 campers, some other tents of a similar size have more than one room allowing for a little more privacy.
  4. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately specifically for the Bunk House 6 footprint Even though the floor may be made of Polyester, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.

Our Ratings: 4.4 STARS

Big Agnes's Bunk House 6 tent is great for car camping. There are a few other points not already mentioned above which, we noticed and liked, while reviewing the model: The oversized front vestibule is pole supported to create a covered awning and dry entry and exit. , Quick Stash door keeper on tent body doors makes stowing unzipped doors quick and easy and Pole-securement points located on interior of rainfly provide perfect pitch and extra stability.

With positive ratings, and a center height of 6' and 83 square feet of area to sleep, this tent is like your very own modest residence. It allows you together with 4 other people to share some really enjoyable time camping together. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can look at above.

If you came to this page looking for suggestions about this specific tent, we consider, it would make for a very good acquisition. If you simply happened to land on this website while looking for a new tent having never heard of this manufacurer or this tent model before, it is possibly a good idea to check out a few more comparable tents also.

Value for money: In terms of value for your money, this tent is a more costly than the standard price of all the one hundred and ten, six-person tents we have taken a look at, this alone by itself is not a negative thing. We also need to look at other factors in detail, as we do with each tent.

When we determine the overall score of a tent, we reflect upon loads of data points, looking for areas where the tent could outperform other similar tents and where it is lacking. On this occasion, with a total rating of 4.4 and the price details above, It is simple to spot that with a cost of $549.95 The Bunk House 6 is a fair bargain though it could be perceived as very pricey when compared with comparable tents.

The ratings show that the quality and size the tent gives you make it a worthy purchase for campers searching for a tent that will last for plenty of years. It could make an ok choice for nearly all campers searching for a comfy three-season cabin tent to go camping with, that should serve you well for years to come.
