Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

I don't know why there are no instructions provided with me, but I will contact the provider to clarify this one. The vestibules are a bit small if I have to compare it with other tents. There's a gap between the ground and bottom edge.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Mystique 1 has two doors and a maximum center height of 3' 0 which is a tiny bit smaller than the average height of the 60 various 1 person tents we have studied. With 21 square feet of room inside, it is considerably smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you during the 3-seasons this tent is approved for. Smaller tents similar to this one are a suitable choice for campers that like spending loads of time outside their tent getting some air.

Some of the fantastic things about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking lightweight, making them easy to carry around. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most common of all the different sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the rain pooling on the top of the tent. The most straightforward dome tent will have a square footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is usually considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Beneath you can browse a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Offers you a place to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  2. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Alps adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  4. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 75D 185T poly taffeta, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to rips and punctures. Also, the material has a 3000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
  5. Breathable. The Mystique's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  6. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1500mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  7. Plenty of Positive Reviews The Mystique 1 has Lots of fantastic Reviews
  8. Impressive Ratings The Mystique 1 has some of the best ratings of all the tents on optimumtents.com
  9. Other sizes are available. Alps has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  10. Low price. It is a great buy for a 1 person dome tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $139.99 info_outline

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 21 square feet, the Mystique 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 60 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 9% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some people.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately designed for the Mystique 1 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 75D 185T poly taffeta, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many things to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
  5. Storage Space. Due to the size of the tent, one cannot store a lot of gear inside..

CONCLUSION

Value for money: In so much as value for your money, this tent is a lot cheaper than the average cost of all the ninety-eight, one-person tents we have looked at, this itself does not make it good value for money. We also need to take into account other factors in detail, as we do with every tent.

When we tally up the score of an individual tent, we look at tons of conditions, looking for things where the tent could excel against other near-identical tents and where it is not quite as good. In this case, with a total score of 4.8 and the price data above, we can spot that with a cost of $139.99 info_outline The Mystique 1 is a fantastic buy and fabulously competitively priced in comparison with similar tents.

Its overall score shows that the build and capacity the tent offers were not in any way skimped on to get a price significantly under the standard price for comparable tents. It is also worth thinking about the fact that it is discounted by 18% from the manufactures suggested retail price. It should make a fantastic choice for nearly all people looking for a comfortable three-season backpacking tent to go camping with, that will serve you well for years to come.
