Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

I don't know why there are no instructions provided with me, but I will contact the provider to clarify this one. The vestibules are a bit small if I have to compare it with other tents. There's a gap between the ground and bottom edge.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Mystique 1 has two doors and a maximum center height of 3' 0, which is a tiny bit less than the average height of the 68 various 1 person tents we have examined With 21 square feet of room inside, it is a lot smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you throughout the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents similar to this one often make a nice choice for people who love spending lots of hours outside exploring the great outdoors.

Some of the great things about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part lightweight, making them simple to carry around. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are the most commonly seen of all the other sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in bad weather than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the rain pooling on the top of the tent. The most basic dome tent will have a square floor, sloped sides a couple of poles which converge in the center of the roof. Because of their construction, it is usually considered that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Below you can see a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Gives you somewhere to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is good to see Alps Mountaineering has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  4. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 75D 185T poly taffeta, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to rips and punctures. Also, the material has a 3000 mm waterproofing rating, which is pretty good for most circumstances.
  5. Breathable. The Mystique's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  6. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1500mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy rain.
  7. Tons of Positive Reviews The Mystique 1 has Tons of awesome Reviews
  8. Fantastic Ratings The Mystique 1 has some of the best ratings of all the tents on optimumtents.com
  9. Available in other sizes. Alps Mountaineering has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  10. Low price. It is a great buy for a 1 person dome tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $149.99

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 21 square feet, the Mystique 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 68 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 8% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some people.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Mystique 1 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 75D 185T poly taffeta, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have lots of qualities to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.8 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.8 STARS

Alps Mountaineering's Mystique 1 tent is good for backpacking. There are a couple of other points not mentioned above which, we found and liked, while reviewing the model: Fly vent can be kept open or closed, depending upon the weather, The Mystique is a 2 pole, non-freestanding tent and is the most lightweight model in our line. and Weatherproof fly provides a vestibule over each door.

With very good ratings, tons of reviews and a center height of 3' and 21 square feet of space to play with, this tent is like your very own small home away from home. This allows you to spend some real quality time exploring the great outdoors. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can read through above.

If you found this page looking for suggestions about this specific tent, we think, it should make for a very good acquisition. If you simply happened to land on this page while browsing for a brand new tent having not heard of this brand or this tent model before, it is possibly a good thing to check out some more similar tents also.

Value for money: When thinking about value for your dollar, this tent is undoubtedly more competitive than the average cost of all the one hundred and six, one-person tents we have looked at, this alone does not make it excellent value for money. We also need to think about other factors in-depth, as we do for every tent.

When we measure the score of an individual tent, we examine plenty of stuff, looking for points where the tent could outshine other similar tents and where it is lacking. On this occasion, with an overall score of 4.8 and the price conclusions above, It is simple to conclude that with a ticket price of $149.99 Alps Mountaineering's Mystique 1 is a perfect purchase and astonishingly priced in comparison with similar tents.

The overall score shows that the quality and dimensions the tent offers were not in any way skimped on to finish up with a price significantly beneath the average price for similar tents. It is also worth thinking about the fact that it is reduced by 0% from the manufactures suggested retail price. It will make an awesome choice for nearly all people searching for a comfy three-season backpacking tent to go camping with, that will serve you well for years to come.
