Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

People who experienced using this tent said: All I can say that this is a decent tent. It works well, but unfortunately, some noticeable flaws need to be mention. That includes the footprint in which the water gets trapped between it. If the rain is heavy, the sides sweat and create nice little pools of water inside after a few hours of rain. The zippers need also extra care. You do not want to repair it after using it for the first time. Just do not use under extreme weather conditions.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Hornet 1 Elite Ultralight has one door and a peak center height of 3' 3, which is a tiny bit smaller than the average height of the 79 various 1 person tents we have examined With 22 square feet of space inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents similar to this one generally make a very nice choice for people who like spending loads of time outside the tent exploring.

A few of the great things about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking not too heavy, making them simple to carry. In nearly all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very easy to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most commonly seen of all the various types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the rain to pool on the top of the tent. The most basic dome tent should have a square footprint, slanted walls a couple of poles which cross in the center of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is usually considered that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can browse a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Gives you a place to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is nice to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  3. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1200mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy rain.
  4. Great Ratings The Hornet 1 has some of the best ratings of all the tents on optimumtents.com
  5. Other sizes are available. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 22 square feet, the Hornet 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 80 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 10D Sil/PeU Nylon Ripstop but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  3. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of attributes to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
