SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Zoic 1 has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 3, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 77 various 1 person tents we have examined With 21 square feet of space inside, it is a lot smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you all through the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents like this one generally make an awesome choice for campers who enjoy spending loads of hours outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

A few of the great things about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part light, making them easy to carry around. In nearly all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you could do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are the most common of all the other sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the water pooling on the top. The most basic dome tent should have a rectangular floor, slanted sides a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is typically considered that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Zoic can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Affords you somewhere to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see MSR adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 70D taffeta nylon Xtreme Shield polyurethane & DWR, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to rips and punctures. Also, the material has a 3000 mm waterproofing rating, which is pretty good for most circumstances.
  5. Includes FootPrint. It is not often we see a footprint included with a tent. It is strongly suggested to always use a footprint, so not having to pay extra for one is a bonus.
  6. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1500mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy rain.
  7. Other sizes are available. MSR has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  8. Low price. It is a great buy for a 1 person dome tent that provides this much room. Not many tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $224.93

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 21 square feet, the Zoic 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 78 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of qualities to rave about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.3 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Here are a couple of other nice points not already mentioned above which, were noticed and liked, while researching the model: Full micromesh canopy for optimal breathability, moisture control, views and bug-free protection, with minimal weight, A wide floor plan and steep sidewalls create a roomy interior and Proven MSR design geometry is matched with light, strong aluminum poles and long-lasting Xtreme Shield waterproof coating..

With positive ratings, a couple of reviews and a peak height of 3' and 21 square feet of space for sleeping, this tent is like your very own modest studio. This allows you to spend some real quality moments hanging out with nature. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can look at above.

If you came to this website looking for recommendations on this particular tent, we consider, it would make for a good buy. If you simply happened to land on this page while looking for a new tent having never heard of this brand or this tent model before, it is probably a good idea to check out a few more similar tents also.

Value for money: In terms of value for money, this tent is cheaper than the average cost of all the seventy-seven, one-person tents we have looked at, this alone by itself does not make it great value for money. One should also take into account other things in-depth, as we do with each tent.

When we tally up the overall score of a tent, we look at loads of conditions, looking for points where the tent could outperform other comparable tents and where it is not quite as good. On this occasion, with a total rating of 4.3 and the price conclusions above, one can conclude that with a price point of $224.93 The Zoic 1 is a fair purchase and reasonably priced when compared with similar tents.

The overall score shows that the build and dimensions the tent gives you were not compromised to obtain a price well below the average price for similar tents. It should make an awesome choice for nearly all people searching for an adequate three-season backpacking tent to camp in, that will serve you well for years to come.
