Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who bought this tent said: Using a footprint is optional, but not necessary. Getting in and out of this tent is the best I've ever experienced in any tent. The Firefly's interior feels expansive rather than cramped and can comfortably fit two adults. I barely felt its weight in my pack! Easy to set up and takedown, and the weight is excellent. This tent checks off all my requirements: freestanding, durable floor, easy to assemble, and bomber in the weather. Great 3 season tent!

The Firefly 2 has two doors and a peak center height of 3' 5, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 235 various 2 person tents we have examined With 29 square feet of space inside, it is significantly smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you and, another camper during the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents similar to this one make a good choice for campers that like spending lots of hours outside exploring the great outdoors.

Many of the great points about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances not too heavy, making them easy to carry around. In nearly all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the various types of tents you will find when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, allowing the water to pool on the top of the tent. The simplest dome tent will have a rectangular floor, sloped sides a couple of poles which converge in the center of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is generally considered that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Beneath you can find a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

  1. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Gives you somewhere to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is good to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  3. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  4. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the whole body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1200mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  5. Low price. It is a great buy for a 2 person dome tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $349.95

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 29 square feet, the Firefly 2 is smaller than quite a lot of the 246 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 8% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some people.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 68D PU Polyester but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many attributes to be positive about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Nemo Equipment's Firefly 2 tent is suitable for backpacking. Here are a couple of other cool things not noted above which, we found and liked, while researching the model: Rainfly securely snaps onto poles for easy tensioning and increased weather protection, Divv Sack dual-stage stuff sack allows you to split the load with a hiking partner and Protected by the NEMO Lifetime Warranty..

With positive ratings, a couple of reviews and a minimum headroom of 3' and 29 square feet of space to enjoy, this tent is like your own modest home away from home. This will allow you to spend some really enjoyable moments camping. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can check out above.

If you came to this website looking for suggestions about this actual tent, our view is, it should make for a good acquisition. In case you just happened to arrive on this website while looking for a new tent having never heard of this manufacture or this tent model previously, it is perhaps a good idea to check out a few other comparable tents.

Value for money: When considering value for money, this tent is a lot more competitive than the standard cost of all the two hundred and thirty-five, two-person tents we have looked at, all alone this does not make it remarkable value for money. One should also take a look at other areas in-depth, as we do with each tent.

When we measure the ratings of an individual tent, we scrutinize loads of conditions, finding areas where the tent could beat out other near-identical tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with an overall rating of 4.3 and the price data above, one can spot that with a cost of $349.95 Nemo Equipment's Firefly 2 is a great bargain and fabulously competitively priced when compared with similar tents.

The overall score shows that the build and space the tent offers were not compromised to get a price well below the usual price for comparable tents. It should make a very good choice for most people searching for an appropriate three-season backpacking tent to camp in, that will serve you well for years to come.
