Summary: Favorable Reviews

Currently, there are no campers who have used the new 2020 Hammer 2p tent and written a review yet! The build and style are nearly identical to the older Hammer 2 Model, which has lots of reviews. Campers who purchased the older tent said: A nice feature is to be able to install the shelter from the inside out. No condensation and very breathable material. Very easy to put together and tear down. It stood up in the rain and wind, and the condensation was low to none. An ideal light tent that can sustain strong winds. Very happy with how it performed. Easiest tent to erect ever. Just open the door and stick the poles inside, in the small corner pockets. You have to kneel inside to do this, and it took me 90 seconds to put poles in and 30 seconds to take them out.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Currently, there are no people who have used the new 2020 Hammer 2 person tent and written a review yet! The build and style are nearly identical to the older Hammer 2 Model, which has lots of reviews. People who bought the previous model mentioned: The vestibule is tiny, which isn't suitable for cooking. Using a single wall tent in cold temperatures, you have to be ready to deal with frosty walls in the morning.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Hammer 2 has two doors and a maximum center height of 3' 7, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 215 different 2 person tents we have studied. With 38 square feet of space inside, it is a tiny bit larger than some other 2-person tents, and it should accommodate you and, another camper during the 4-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents similar to this one make an excellent choice for campers who enjoy spending loads of time outside the tent exploring.

Some of the fantastic things about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances not too heavy, making them simple to carry around. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the other types of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing rain to roll off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the water to pool on the roof. The most basic dome tent should have a square floor, slanted sides a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to their construction, it is usually thought of that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Down below, you can browse an account of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Hammer can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Gives you somewhere to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is nice to see Marmot has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 50-denier coated ripstop nylon, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to tears and punctures. Also, the material has a 10000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.

CONS

  1. Lacking in Headroom. With 7% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some people.
  2. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 50-denier coated ripstop nylon but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  3. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures site the last time we checked.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many attributes to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

Our Ratings: 4.7 STARS

Marmot's Hammer 2 tent is really good for mountaineering and backpacking. Here are a couple of other nice points not already mentioned above which, were noticed and liked, while reviewing the model: Single-wall construction with waterproof, breathable fabric for quick setup in inclement weather, Seam-taped, catenary-cut, bathtub-style floor and Removable vestibule with snow flaps included.

With fantastic ratings, and a peak height of 3' and 38 square feet of space to play with, this tent is like your own modest home away from home. This will enable you to spend some really enjoyable time camping. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can look at above.

If you found this website looking for suggestions about this particular tent, our view is, it would make for a very good purchase. If you simply happened to arrive on this website while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this brand or this tent model previously, it is perhaps a good thing to check out a few more similar tents also.

Value for money: In terms of value for your money, this tent is without a doubt costlier than the standard price of all the two hundred and ninety-six, two-person tents we have taken a look at, this itself is not a negative thing. One should also look at other areas in-depth, as we do with each tent.

When we measure the valuation of an individual tent, we look at tons of conditions, searching for things where the tent could beat other very similar tents and where it is not quite as good. On this occasion, with an overall score of 4.7 and the price info above, we can conclude that with a cost of $649.99 Marmot's Hammer 2 is a superb purchase although it could be perceived as very costly when compared with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the build and space the tent gives you make it a superb buy for people looking for a tent that will last for lots of years. It could make a decent choice for nearly all campers searching for a comfy four-season backpacking tent to camp in, that should serve you well for years to come.
