Tent Set Up

Freestanding architecture makes for a quick setup

Summary: Favorable Reviews

Zippers have only one slider. Two sliders would have been better. The floor area is not suitable for 6 persons. It is also more expensive than other comparable tents.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Although expensive, the tent is well made. It has a very spacious interior. The tent is also easy to assemble and pitch.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The X-loft 6 has two doors and a maximum center height of 5' 10, which is a tiny bit smaller than the average height of the 110 various 6 person tents we have examined With 85 square feet of space inside, it is considerably smaller than some other 6-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you and, up to five other campers during the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents like this one generally make an ideal choice for campers who like spending lots of hours outside their tent getting some air.

A few of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances not too heavy, making them simple to carry around. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very easy to set up. In good weather, you could do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are the most commonly seen of all the other sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in storms than other types, allowing rain to roll off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, allowing the water to pool on the roof. The most basic dome tent will have a rectangular floor, slanted sides two or more poles which converge in the middle of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is usually considered that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Down below, you can check out a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The X-loft can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Offers you somewhere to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is good to see Eureka adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 70D 190T Nylon taffeta, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to tears and punctures. Also, the material has a 2000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
  6. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1800mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  7. Excellent Ratings The X-loft 6 has some of the best ratings of all the tents on optimumtents.com
  8. Available in other sizes. Eureka has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Sensitive to wind. Because of its size and shape, the X-loft may not do well in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would want to stake and tie it down correctly.
  2. Not roomy. With a floor area of 85 square feet, the X-loft 6 is smaller than quite a lot of the 110 other 6 person tents we have looked at.
  3. Lacking in Headroom. With 6% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some campers.
  4. No windows. With no windows it is not simple to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
  5. Only one room. The X-loft is suggested for 6 campers, some other tents of a similar size have more than one room allowing for a little more privacy.
  6. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 70D 190T Nylon taffeta but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  7. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures website the last time we checked.
  8. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many qualities to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

There are a few other cool things not mentioned above which, were found and liked, while reviewing the model: Waterproof rain fly keeps the tent protected from the elements, High/Low Air Exchange Venting and With a huge vestibule and space inside to spare, it's a comfortable home base and a go-to gathering spot for your campsite..

It enables you together with 4 other friends to share some really enjoyable time exploring the great outdoors. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can check out above.

If you came to this website looking for recommendations on this specific tent, our view is, it would make for an excellent purchase. In case you just happened to land on this website while looking for a brand new tent having not heard of this manufacture or this tent model before, it is perhaps a good idea to check out a few more comparable tents also.

Value for money: In terms of value for money, this tent is more pricier than the usual price of all the one hundred and seven, six-person tents we have studied, this just by itself is not a negative thing. One should also think about other factors in-depth, as we do for each tent.

When we calculate the overall score of an individual tent, we look at a good deal of conditions, searching for areas where the tent could exceed other near-identical tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with a total score of 5.0 and the price statistics above, one can notice that with a cost of $423.982 The X-loft 6 is a superb purchase though it may be thought of as a tiny bit costly when set side by side with comparable tents.

The ratings show that the quality and size the tent offers make it an awesome purchase for campers wanting a tent that can be used for many years. It is also worth noting it is discounted by 0% from the manufactures suggested price. It could make a good choice for nearly all people looking for a comfortable three-season dome tent to go camping with, that will serve you well for years to come.
