PROS

1. Internal storage. It is nice to see Coleman has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
2. More than one room. The Skylodge comes with two rooms, allowing for more privacy. Perfect for a large family and groups who do not want to be all sleeping together.
3. Removable divider. For those who would like to maximize all of the available space that the Skylodge provides, the divider can be detached to have one large room for everyone to share.
4. More than one window. With 4 windows it is easier to keep the tent cooler on a hot summers night.
5. Breathable. The Skylodge's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.

1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 171 square feet, the Skylodge 12 is smaller than quite a few of the 18 other 12 person tents we have looked at.
2. Lacking in Headroom. With 8% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some people.
3. Only one door. With just one door to get out in the middle of the night, it could wake other campers that are sleeping.
4. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you need keep them inside the tent.
5. Rainfly does not completely cover the tent. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it may not protect against heavy downpours.
6. Uses Fiberglass poles. Even though the poles are comprised of steel & fiberglass. Using even some fiberglass with a large tent like the Skylodge 12 could possibly lead to problems, if there were to be extreemly windy conditions.
7. Heavy. Even though heavy is not in it self a negative, it is worth noting that the Skylodge 12, weighs 34 pounds and has a packed size of 31 x 11 x 11 inches. obviously it is designed for camping with a vehicle and would not be super easy to set up on your own.
8. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of WeatherTec system's welded corners and inverted seams help keep water out but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
