Summary: Favorable Reviews

Campers Said: The zippers seem to work well enough. Very easy to assemble and pack up. It held up great during a light storm, and everything was completely dry - excellent value considering the price. Users experienced no significant condensation inside the tent. Favorite features included the mesh roof storage net.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers mentioned: It is a decent size, but the string in one of the pole units broke after the first use. Isn't really made for that cold weather. The entrance has a big step. Probably best to use the tent for one person less than suggested by the manufacturer.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Rimrock 6 has two windows and one door and a maximum center height of 6' 0, which is a little bit smaller than the average height of the 107 other 6 person tents we have studied. With 100 square feet of room inside, it is a little bit smaller than some other 6-person tents, and it could be a little cramped for you and, up to five other campers during the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, larger tents like this one often can make a suitable choice for families that appreciate having lots of room inside their tent for sleeping and hanging out.

A few of the cool things about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking lightweight, making them simple to carry. In near all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you could do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are without a doubt the most common of all the different sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the rain pooling on the top. The simplest dome tent should have a square footprint, slanted sides a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is generally thought of that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can browse an account of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Rimrock can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Cedar Ridge adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  3. Has awnings. The awnings protect the walls of the tent.
  4. More than one window. With 2 openings it is simple to keep the tent cool on a hot summers night.
  5. Breathable. The Rimrock's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  6. Other sizes are available. Cedar Ridge has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  7. Low price. It is a great buy for a 6 person dome tent that provides this much room. Not many tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $128.58 info_outline

CONS

  1. Susceptible to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Rimrock may not do well in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would want to stake and tie it down correctly.
  2. Not spacious. With a floor area of 100 square feet, the Rimrock 6 is smaller than quite a few of the 107 other 6 person tents we have looked at.
  3. Only one room. The Rimrock is suggested for 6 people, some other tents of a similar size have more than one room allowing for a little more privacy.
  4. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you must store them inside the tent.
  5. Rainfly does not completely cover the tent. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy rain.
  6. Uses Fiberglass poles. Even though the poles are comprised of shock-corded fiberglass. Using even some fiberglass with a large tent like the Rimrock 6 could possibly lead to problems, if there were to be extreemly windy conditions.
  7. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately designed for the Rimrock 6 footprint Even though the floor may be made of Polyethylene Tub, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  8. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many things to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.1 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.1 STARS

Cedar Ridge's Rimrock 6 tent is perfect for car camping. There are a few other cool things not already mentioned above which, we noticed and liked, while researching the model: Every Rimrock interior features mesh storage pockets and a gear loft to keep your gear organized, 185T polyester fly resists UV damage and stays taut and Weatherproof fly with an awning over door and rear window.

With good ratings, a decent amount of reviews and a peak height of 6' and 100 square feet of space for sleeping, this tent is like your very own miniature home away from home. This allows you and up to 4 other people to share some real quality moments enjoying nature. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can look at above.

If you found this page looking for suggestions on this particular tent, we consider, it should make for a good buy. If you just happened to land on this page while looking for a new tent having never heard of this brand or this tent before, it is possibly a good thing to check out a few other comparable tents.

Value for money: In terms of value for your dollar, this tent is unquestionably more competitive than the standard price of all the one hundred and eight, six-person tents we have looked at, this just by itself does not make it awesome value for money. One should also think about other factors in-depth, as we do with each tent.

When we measure the valuation of a single tent, we regard a lot of things, looking for areas where the tent could excel against other very similar tents and where it is coming up short. On this occasion, with an overall score of 4.1 and the price knowledge above, we can notice that with a ticket price of $128.58 info_outline Cedar Ridge's Rimrock 6 is a decent purchase and astonishingly priced in comparison with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and dimensions the tent offers were not skimped on to obtain a price tag unquestionably beneath the usual price for similar tents. It is also worth thinking about the fact that it is marked down by 14% from the manufactures suggested retail price. It will make a very good choice for most people searching for an appropriate three-season dome tent to camp with, that should serve you well for years to come.
