Easy to setup free-standing two-pole design with 7000 series aluminum poles
The tent held up very well. One of my favorite things is that this tent was so easy to pack. I didn't struggle to put it all in its bag.
The plastic back window wasn't durable. It caused a little streak when I used it during one of my trips. This Zephyr 2 is also heavy-ish. One pound heavier among its class.
The Zephyr 2 has two doors and a maximum center height of 3' 2 which is 13 inches less than the average height of the 189 different 2 person tents we have looked at. With 31 square feet of space inside, it is significantly smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you and, another camper all through the 3-seasons this tent is suggested for. Smaller tents similar to this one can make a really nice choice for campers who like spending lots of hours outside of their tent exploring.
Some of the cool things about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances light, making them easy to carry around. In nearly all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very easy to set up. In good weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is suggested.
Dome tents are the most commonly seen of all the other sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing water to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the rain pooling on the roof. The simplest dome tent should have a rectangular footprint, sloped walls two or more poles which converge in the center of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is usually thought of that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 people.
