Summary: Favorable Reviews

Some hikers said that: This tent is just easy to put up. Surprisingly, this tent includes awning which from my experience, other tents do not include. It also protected me really well from the rain. I also love the idea of having an extra vestibule for storing extra gear and lantern loops which helped me in setting up the tent.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Some of the backpackers who used this tent said: It is a decent tent. However, some may find this easy to set up; however, if you are a beginner, you may find it confusing, so do not detach the tent from the cover.I would not recommend this one under extreme conditions. Not only comfortability will be compromised but also stability.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Front Porch 2 has two doors and a maximum center height of 4' 1, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 235 other 2 person tents we have examined With 33 square feet of space inside, it is a little bit smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, another camper all through the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents similar to this one can make an awesome choice for campers who appreciate spending plenty of hours outside exploring the great outdoors.

Some of the fantastic things about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part lightweight, making them easy to carry. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the other types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to roll off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the rain pooling on the top. The most basic dome tent will have a rectangular floor, slanted sides a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is usually thought of that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Down below, you can find an account of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Gives you a place to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is good to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  3. Has awnings. The awnings shelter the walls of the tent.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Low price. It is a great purchase for a 2 person dome tent providing this much room. Not a lot of tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $389.95

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 33 square feet, the Front Porch 2 is smaller than quite a few of the 246 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Rainfly does not wholly cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy rain.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately specifically for the Front Porch 2 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 150-deneir polyurethane coated polyester, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Discontinued: Unfortunately this particular tent has been discontinued on the manufactures site and is no longer available elsewhere, that we know of.
  5. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Front Porch 2, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 9 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  6. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of attributes to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.3 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Nemo Equipment's Front Porch 2 tent is perfect for bicycle & motorbike camping. There are a couple of other points not mentioned above which, were found and liked, while reviewing the model: Adjustable tarp pole makes the perfect pitch and helps prevent sagging, Overhead headlamp Light Pocket has a special light-diffusing fabric and Lantern loops allow for additional lighting in the awning area.

With favorable ratings, a couple of reviews and a minimum headroom of 4' and 33 square feet of area to sleep, this tent is like your own small studio. It enables you to spend some delightful time in the outdoors. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can study above.

If you came to this website looking for an endorsement on this specific tent, we consider, it should make for a good purchase. In case you simply happened to land on this website while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this brand or this tent model before, it is possibly a good idea to check out some other comparable tents also.

Value for money: In so much as value for money, this tent is cheaper than the average price point of all the two hundred and thirty-five, two-person tents we have taken a look at, this alone by itself does not make it great value for money. One should also take into account other areas in-depth, as we do for each tent.

When we measure the valuation of an individual tent, we consider plenty of things, finding things where the tent could outdo other similar tents and where it is not quite as good. In this case, with an overall rating of 4.3 and the price info above, It is simple enough to conclude that with a price of $389.95 The Front Porch 2 is a decent bargain and reasonably priced when compared with similar tents.

The overall score shows that the build and space the tent offers were not skimped on to get a price tag significantly beneath the standard price for comparable tents. It will make an excellent choice for nearly all campers looking for an appropriate three-season dome tent to go camping with, that will serve you well for years to come.
