Easy to put up. Effectively keeps mosquitoes, flies, and other bugs away. The interior fits a picnic table and chairs, but the remaining space may be tight for some people. Quality overall is good though.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Hexagon Screen House 12 is Eureka's largest tent, and it has six windows and two doors and a peak center height of 7' 4, which is a tiny bit more than the average height of the 15 various 12 person tents we have examined With 168 square feet of room inside, it is significantly smaller than some other 12-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you and, up to eleven other campers during the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, larger tents like this one can generally make a suitable choice for groups that love having heaps of room inside their tent.

Many of the cool things about shelter tents are, that they are for, the most part not too heavy, making them easy to carry around. In nearly all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the shelter type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Shelter tents are easily the most commonly seen of all the various sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in storms than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the water pooling on the top. The simplest shelter tent should have a square footprint, sloped walls two or more poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to their construction, it is usually thought of that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Down below, you can check out an account of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Hexagon Screen House can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Internal storage. It is good to see Eureka has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  3. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  4. More than one window. With 6 windows it is simple to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
  5. Breathable. The Hexagon Screen House's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  6. Low price. It is a great buy for a 12 person shelter tent providing this much space. Not many tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $219.95

CONS

  1. Sensitive to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Hexagon Screen House may not do well in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would need to stake and tie it down correctly.
  2. Not roomy. With a floor area of 168 square feet, the Hexagon Screen House 12 is smaller than quite a few of the 15 other 12 person tents we have looked at.
  3. Only one room. The Hexagon Screen House is recommended for 12 campers, many other tents of a similar size have more than one room allowing for a little more privacy.
  4. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you must store them inside the tent.
  5. Poor Heat Retention. The general construction of the Eureka's Hexagon Screen Houses interior is designed to easily let air in and out. Therefore, it cannot keep heat inside, making it unsuitable for use in winter.
  6. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of tough fabric but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  7. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures website the last time we looked.

CONCLUSION

4 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.0 STARS

Eureka's Hexagon Screen House 12 tent is really good for car camping. Here are a few other points not already mentioned above which, we noticed and liked, while reviewing the model: External 3/4 inch diameter powder coated steel frame and central hub connects all 6 chain corded poles for easy set up, Sized to fit a picnic table and 50D polyester no-see-um mesh wall panels keep bugs out while letting air in.

With good ratings, quite a few reviews and a center height of 7' and 168 square feet of space to play with, this tent is like your own small manor. It will enable you together with 10 other people to share some delightful time in the outdoors together. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can study above.

If you found this page looking for suggestions about this actual tent, our view is, it should make for a good purchase. In case you simply happened to arrive on this website while looking for a brand new tent having never heard of this manufacurer or this model previously, it is possibly a good thing to look at some more comparable tents also.

Value for money: As far as value for your dollar, this tent is a lot cheaper than the usual price of all the seventeen, twelve-person tents we have taken a look at, this alone does not make it awesome value for money. One should also take into account other areas in-depth, as we do with each tent.

When we calculate the ratings of a single tent, we consider tons of things, finding areas where the tent could perform well against other comparable tents and where it is not quite as good. In this case, with a total score of 4.0 and the price conclusions above, we can recognize that with a price of $219.95 Eureka's Hexagon Screen House 12 is a good deal and fabulously competitively priced in comparison with similar tents.

Its overall score shows that the quality and capacity the tent offers were not skimped on to obtain a price well under the normal price for comparable tents. It will make an exceptional choice for most campers looking for an adequate three-season shelter tent to camp with, that will serve you well for years to come.
