Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who used the tent said that: Good value for money. The porch is also a great feature. Can be tricky to set up at first, but it's worth the effort.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers who bought the tent said that: Some of the stitching and the corner straps can tear loose randomly. The canopy also seems too small for the average person.

The Cold Springs 4 With Porch has one door and a maximum center height of 4' 8, which is a little bit smaller than the average height of the 158 different 4 person tents we have examined With 63 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 4-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, up to three other campers all through the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents similar to this one can make an excellent choice for campers that love spending heaps of hours outside of their tent exploring.

Some of the great things about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking lightweight, making them simple to carry around. In near all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you could do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the different sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in the rain than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the water pooling on the top. The simplest dome tent should have a square footprint, sloped sides a couple of poles which converge in the center of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is generally thought of that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Underneath you can find an account of the tent's pros and cons.

  1. Freestanding. The Cold Springs With Porch can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Affords you a place to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is good to see Coleman has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  4. Includes FootPrint. It is quite rare to see a footprint included with a tent. It is strongly suggested to always use a footprint, so not having to pay extra for one is a plus.
  5. Low price. It is a great purchase for a 4 person dome tent providing this much space. Not many tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $80.01 info_outline

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 63 square feet, the Cold Springs 4 is smaller than quite a lot of the 159 other 4 person tents we have looked at.
  2. No windows. With no windows it is not easy to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
  3. Rainfly does not wholly cover the tent. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it may not protect against heavy rain.
  4. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures site the last time we looked.
  5. A tad heavy for backpacking. Even though the Cold Springs 4, looks like a small tent, it is not ideal for backpacking as it weighs 16 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  6. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of things to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

3.9 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 3.9 STARS

Coleman's Cold Springs 4 With Porch tent is good for car camping. Here are a few other things not noted above which, were noticed and liked, while researching the model: The included rainfly and the WeatherTec system with its patented welded floors and inverted seams will help you stay dry., Storage pockets to keep your gear organized and 1-year limited warranty.

With half decent ratings, quite a lot of reviews and a center height of 4' and 63 square feet of space to enjoy, this tent is like your own miniature home away from home. It will enable you and up to 2 other campers to spend some real quality time enjoying nature. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can look at above.

If you found this website looking for suggestions about this specific tent, our view is, it should make for an ok buy. If you simply happened to land on this page while browsing for a brand new tent having never heard of this brand or this tent previously, it is perhaps a good thing to look at a few more similar tents.

Value for money: In terms of value for your money, this tent is unquestionably more competitive than the normal price of all the one hundred and fifty-eight, four-person tents we have taken a look at, this alone by itself does not make it awesome value for money. One should also look at other factors in detail, as we do for every tent.

When we calculate the overall score of an individual tent, we consider plenty of stuff, looking for things where the tent could beat other very similar tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with a total rating of 3.9 and the price knowledge above, one can view that with a price of $80.01 info_outline The Cold Springs 4 With Porch is a good deal and incredibly competitively priced in comparison with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and capacity the tent offers may have been on a small scale compromised to finish up with a price significantly below the usual price for comparable tents. It should make a decent choice for most people searching for a comfy three-season dome tent to go camping with, that will serve you well.
